A sanctuary for makers, online.

By makers, for makers.

A matte black cubic box with the Good Use wordmark in warm amber on the front face, on a cream backdrop in soft natural light.

Every stash holds a story. Every story deserves a place to go.

Not a marketplace. Not a platform. An ecosystem — a place where makers can bring their stash, the fabric they collected with intention, the supplies that carry memory, the materials that deserve more than a garage sale bin, and trust they will find someone who will love them the way they were loved the first time.

When JOANN closed its doors — all 800 stores, gone by May 2025 — it wasn't just a retail story. It was the loss of a physical sanctuary for millions of makers. The place you could touch the fabric, trust the quality, and feel like you belonged.

My stash holds three generations. My mother taught me to see that materials are the beginning of ideas. I taught my daughters the same. My youngest leaves for college in two years — and just like that, I'm in a new season of my life, with a stash that has outgrown me. I know I'm not the only one.

Good Use is that sanctuary. Online. And it can never close.

Folded navy linen, mustard cotton, navy floral, soft denim and natural fabrics fanned out with thread spools, buttons, and bias tape on a linen sheet.
Materials are the beginning of ideas.

Three things we hold true

  1. I.

A stash is never clutter. It's potential waiting.

  2. II.

Trust is built through standards, not slogans.

  3. III.

The right maker for what you've gathered already exists. They just need a way to find it.
